WINTER ACTIVITIES
SCI
The Doganaccia area allows us to make many different slopes available to visitors, for skiers of all levels. The ski season begins with the first heavy snowfall (usually around mid-November) and typically continues until mid-March.
SNOWSHOEING
Snowshoeing on the Pistoia mountains is an exciting experience suitable for everyone, even beginners. A way to immerse yourself in the silence and quiet of the white landscapes by day or night. It is possible to rent snowshoeing equipment directly at the Grande Baita.
SLEDGE
Adults and children have always had fun sledding: have a moment of absolute leisure. The slopes are right in front of the Grande Baita, and upon your return we will welcome you in front of the fireplace to warm up, also at the Rifugio della Bicocca, a few steps from the Grande Baita.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
MTB and DOWNHILL BICYCLE
Stunning, exquisitely designed routes that develop from the arrival station of the cable car at Doganaccia, up to the departure station of Cutigliano.
The routes are framed by the wonderful scenery of the beech and spruce forests.
The routes have been designed to cover all needs; from the most experts to beginners.
TREKKING
Bring trekking poles, sturdy shoes and lots of high-energy food, because once you start walking the park's trekking trails, you won't want to stop. All our trails are clearly marked according to difficulty level.
ADVENTURE PARK
The Doganaccia Adventure Park, among the first in Tuscany, offers fun for everyone: from 0 to 99 years. The routes, diversified by level of difficulty, are all carried out in total safety, giving you only positive emotions and adrenaline.
THERAPEUTIC FOREST
Immersing yourself in the forest or forest bathing is the new all-natural therapy that wards off stress and depression. Scientific studies that have observed the beneficial effects of being immersed in natural environments surrounded only by the smells, lights and noises that are released by the plants and animals that frequent them.
FISHING
Fishing in mountain lakes is a historic activity of Doganaccia. Not far from the Grande Baita you will find the possibility of practicing sport fishing. Fun but also maximum respect for flora and fauna: the aim is fishing. The cuisine of the Grande Baita will take care of your appetite: typical dishes and flavors to satisfy great fishermen.
BOB ADRENALINE
Bob on rail: 700m of descent and pure adrenaline. Always in total safety, for adults and children (children under eight years of age cannot go down alone). The only risk: never wanting to stop!
And when so much emotion leaves you thirsty and hungry there is the Rifugio del Viandante: bar, pizzeria and cold dishes to refresh you.
SPECIAL WELCOME FOR GROUPS
La Grande Baita offers a special welcome for groups of all kinds: families, sports associations, schools, managerial retreats, senior citizens' stays...
We can accommodate up to 55 people, with half board or full board, and we actively assist you in building a program of activities dedicated to your group to make everyone's stay an unforgettable experience.
